Global Conflicts & Mental Health Program

The Global Conflicts & Mental Health Program is a pioneering initiative aimed at addressing the profound psychological impact of on-going global conflicts on individuals within our multicultural society. Recognizing the distress caused by distressing media content and heightened political discourse, this program seeks to provide support and strategies for navigating these challenges effectively.

Background:

In the face of conflicts such as those in Ukraine, Israel-Gaza, Sudan, and others, individuals worldwide are exposed to distressing media content that exacerbates feelings of anxiety and helplessness. This is particularly significant within multicultural societies like Canada, where many individuals have personal ties to regions directly affected by these conflicts. The resulting heightened sensitivity and political discourse pose risks to academic, professional, and familial well-being, highlighting the urgent need for strategies to address these challenges.
