This session focuses on everyday communication tools that can make dementia caregiving more effective and less overwhelming. It is designed for family and professional caregivers who want practical, evidence‑informed ways to respond to memory loss, confusion, and distress while preserving dignity and connection.

Guided by a licensed psychotherapist (to be announced), we will:

  • Learn simple strategies to respond to confusion, repeated questions, and emotional distress
  • Practice de‑escalating tense moments and reducing conflict in day‑to‑day care
  • Explore how to validate emotions and use clear, compassionate language across different stages of dementia or depression
  • Review take‑home phrases, prompts, and checklists to use with loved ones and health providers

This discussion is supportive and skills‑focused, with brief examples and optional role‑plays rather than personal disclosure. Participants will leave with concrete communication tools they can start using right away to feel more confident, calm, and connected in their caregiving.
